Sweet potato crisps
How to make oven cook sweet potato crisps
- 300 grams sweet potato
- 1 tbsp oil (rapeseed or olive oil)
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- a few turns of black pepper grinder
- a pinch of salt
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan assisted. Line the baking tray with silicon baking mat or an non stick surface.Peel, wash and cut the sweet potato into strips.Then add the black pepper, salt and cornflour. Spread them out thinly on the baking tray. Bake them in the oven after 20 minutes when it's crisping up turn them over. At this stage, some chips will be soft so be gentle when you turn them over. Otherwise, just wait a bit longer till it cools furthers which would help the chip to harden up. The water content in the chip will be evaporated in the baking process. After that cook for a further 10 more minutes. Serve as a side dish.
